Making progress on your web content? Consider attending a Content Migration Workshop this Week.

As the new website launch date draws closer, the Content Migration Workshops are a great opportunity to devote some time to your new web content.

We are holding a number of workshops throughout the week. Staff from the Marketing & Communications Department will be on hand to answer questions about the Site Manager CMS system, as well as offer suggestions for ways to format your content to fit the new page styles and content templates.

The following dates and times have been reserved in the Brickell Library Computer Classroom this week:

You may attend as many Content Migration Workshop sessions as you like. Think of these workshops as two-hour blocks of time that you have set aside to work on migrating your content.

Please remember to bring the content you are working on with you on a jump drive.

Basic content requirements to develop prior to site launch

As we explain during the Formatting Content for the New Web Templates training, all units (i.e., departments, programs, centers, institutes and offices) are required to have basic content ready in the Site Manager system prior to our launch date of June 27.

The basic content requirements include:

  • Unit List Content: Centers, Institutes, & Departments
    1-2 sentence description of department
  • Unit Landing Page Department Description
    Maximum 70 words synopsis if department’s education programs
  • Unit About Page
    Maximum 150 – 200 word description of department and education programs
  • Faculty and Staff
    Most field auto-populated
  • Unit Contact Us
    Physical address, mailing address, phone, email, fax

Keep in mind that if your department/program has both an education and research component, you’ll need to have the first three items prepared for both of those components.
