Following are activities from the past week on the website improvement project:
- We sent the Intranet content inventory to iFactory for their review.
- iFactory delivered version 3 of the new site map; we have a phone conference scheduled for Monday to discuss the education section with iFactory’s information architect and chief strategist; then we will forward the final site map to the Working Group for approval.
- We received the initial “Common Areas and Tasks” for the new Intranet organization; next week, we will forward it to the Advisory Committee for comment. This expands upon the personas developed last spring and lists specific tasks various Intranet users need to perform. This will be used to develop the site map and user task paths.

It’s very expensive to maintain content that site visitors don’t read, and having content visitors don’t read makes it harder for them to find the information they do want.
