“It’s SWEET to be a PA!” in Brickell Library Atrium at EVMS
We invite you to join us as we kick off Physician Assistant (PA) Week with a festive dessert celebration. Craig Goodmurphy, PhD, Professor of Pathology and Anatomy will provide a brief welcome and informal lecture on his experiences with the PA profession and teaching PA students. Desserts and drinks will be provided.
This event is open to EVMS students, faculty, staff, alumni, the incoming PA class, community faculty, preceptors and the community.

The Annual EVMS PA Program Eugene A. Stead, MD Memorial Lecture and PA Week Celebration in Brickell Library Atrium and McCombs Auditorium
This event is a celebration of PA Week and is open to all. It will feature both PAs and MDs with the theme “The PA and MD Partnership.” This annual lecture celebrates the contributions and memory of Dr. Eugene Stead, founder of the PA profession.
Provided by the EVMS PA program and EVMS SAAAPA Chapter. Bruce Lo, MD, Assistant Program Director and Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine, will share his experiences and insight into the many faces of PA education and the PA partnership with MDs. He will be accompanied by Paul Snow, PA-C, (MPA ’09) lead PA with Emergency Physicians of Tidewater.
Brickell Library Atrium and McCombs Auditorium are located at 700 W Olney Rd., Norfolk, Va. Hors d’oeuvres will be served at 4 p.m. with the lecture starting at 5 p.m.

Pumpkin Bowl at Jeff Robertson Park
All are invited to come cheer on the PA students as they look to defend their championship in EVMS’ annual powder puff football game. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Jeff Robertson Park is located at 1220 Azalea Ct., Norfolk, Va., just off of Hampton Blvd. in the West Ghent neighborhood.

Community Service Event: Lily Pad Project
Please join us for a couple of hours of community service as we paint for The Lily Pad Project, which was founded by Nick Konkler, a 17-year-old fighting secondary AML leukemia. The Lily Pads are built as a fun platform to place on IV poles so that kids have a place to sit safely as their parents walk them down the halls of the hospital. Each pad is custom made and hand painted. Literature will be provided.
